You Can Enjoy Turtleneck Long Sleeve Shirts

You either love them or you hate them.  You have a dozen in your wardrobe or you won’t allow one anywhere near you.  Turtleneck long sleeve shirts will do that to you.  They will either make you cringe or you will be buying them in droves off the shelves.  It is probably one of the most polarizing shirt types out there.  Many people really like them because they keep you warm and they look great as a layer underneath something else.  Others do not like having something that close around their neck or they think they are too warm. No matter what your personal preference is there is bound to be someone one there that loves them that you need to buy for.

With little exception the vast majority of turtleneck long sleeve shirts are solid colors.  The reason is simple; for the most part this is used as a shell of sorts under other cloths like a jacket, sweater or another shirt.  They are very often the offset point of an outfit.  The rest of the outfit might be blue but the turtleneck might be white or yellow.  They also look really good when you are going for the mono colored look like dressing all in black or in all green.  They fit in very nicely.

Turtlenecks give you a definitely different look then some of the other shirts you could be wearing.  Because of this many people use them when they are going for a preppy or colligate look.  If you want to look dressy but do not want to wear a tie, often times the outfit will include a turtleneck shirt.  Turtleneck long sleeve shirts are often not broken out until the fall and winter months since they do tend to run warm.  In fact many people will say you are very out of season if you were to try to wear them any other time of the year.  Sort of like wearing white after Labor Day weekend.  You just don’t do it.

For many people the base color of turtleneck long sleeve shirts will be of the blue, black and white family.  This is for a number of reasons; first of all these colors go really well with just about anything and secondly they are the conservative colors that many strive for as a base layer in any outfit.  This is not to say that there are not plenty of other colors and well as many turtlenecks that have designs on them, just that many of them are solid because of what they are being used for.

As the winter months start to find their way in and the calendar gets closer to the holidays you will start to see these turtleneck long sleeve shirts make their way on to the streets and the stores in the area.  They don’t have a very long shelf life and tend to disappear pretty quickly but you can always find them on the World Wide Web.  If you surf on line you will find many stores that sell these and they sell them year round instead of only for a few weeks or months.
