There are many reasons why someone might find themselves in a position to shop for shirts by color.  Many businesses will not give you a uniform per se but they will tell you what colors you need to wear each day.  For instance they may dictate the color of your shirt needs to be a button collared long sleeve shirt that is yellow or black or blue.  The point is you are responsible to make sure that you dress according to their specifications.  You might also have the same thing if you belong to a club or team.  You might not have a uniform but everyone might decide to wear a certain colored tee shirt.
