Safety Uniforms
There are many things you might conjure when you think of safety and safety uniforms. It could bring to mind all those people that are protectors of our safety such as policemen, firemen, emergency medical personnel and other folks that come to our rescue. It could make you think of protective safety equipment like reflective shirts, vests, jackets, pants, coats and shoes. Or to some it might bring to mind those who hold the safety of the general public in a more remote sense such as airline pilots, the military or even correctional personnel. In any of these descriptions, you would be right. Safety is a decidedly broad term.
When you think about safety in terms of safety uniforms you probably go right to the safety equipment that all these people need to wear. For instance you might think of the mechanic’s uniform that has protectorant on it in case of fire, or even the goggles he might wear to protect his eyes from foreign matters. Or the school crossing guard; can you imagine one of them without a reflective vest on? In fact sometimes they wear safety pants as well. All of these items are important to keep the public servant safe so they can then keep us safe.
Then you have all the uniforms that are worn specifically by the public servants that do protect us. Take for instance those on the fringe such as horse, bike and motorcycle patrols. These three areas of public protection need their own specific safety uniforms which are much more robust than others. The helmets, reflective wear, gloves, goggles and the uniform itself all add an additional level of safety to these employees. You can apply the same thought process to any position where the safety of the employee needs to be as great as what they in turn then do for the public. If they are not safe, we are not safe.
Also on the fringe but no less important are those who protect the country. The safety uniforms that they wear are much different than what others wear. Policemen and corrections officers not only wear their respective uniforms but in addition they might wear a safety vest or have reflective markings on their clothes to keep them visible during the night hours.
There are many people who wear safety uniforms. The firefighter’s entire outfit is geared toward safety as they go into hot zones. The EMS technician has the protection from oncoming cars and others and their uniforms reflect this. Even the airline pilot who is responsible for our safety in flight wears a uniform to show his level of responsibility to the people on his plane. Any of the above uniforms or accessories are readily available in you go on line. Most public safety uniforms are not for sale to the general public but a lot of the protective clothing they wear in addition to their uniforms can be found just about anywhere. If you are looking for any of these items you will certainly be able to find them either on line or in stores.
