Be Seen in Reflective Shirts

If you have employees that work at night or in dangerous situations like parking lots or on construction sites, you may be looking for reflective shirts to help to keep them safe and visible.  While you will want to spend some time pondering the material and design of the shirt itself, you will also want to be on the lookout for quality workmanship too.  With respect to the reflective bands on the shirts, you will definitely want to make sure that you are getting something that is going to last through many washings and wearings.

Good quality reflective shirts have reflective tape that is sewn onto the garment.  This means that it will stay put, no matter how often you wash the shirt or the heat of the dryer.  The tape itself is also usually made of a strong backing material and the reflective coating is flake resistant.  This is important because you want to make sure that the reflective material does do what it is intended to and reflect light for the best visibility possible.  When you are looking at shirts you will also find that you have quite a few options for the placement of the tape and generally speaking the more reflective bands the better visibility the shirt will offer.  Often times there will be horizontal reflective bands on the sleeves, as well as vertical and maybe even horizontal stripes on the shirt body, front and back.

The great thing about reflective shirts these days is that they come in many sizes and colours.  This means that you should be able to find a size that fits each and every one of your employees, no matter what their size.  If you need to, there are also many custom suppliers available, especially on the internet.  You will need to know the neck size of the person you are buying the shirt for, as well as their chest measurement and the length of their arms if you are looking at long sleeve shirts.

Most of the time reflective shirts are worn not tucked in.  You will have a great choice of fabrics and weights of fabrics to choose from.  If you live in a colder climate, you might want to consider looking at some of the heavier cotton drills as they can be worn over other clothing and also provide a great deal of warmth.  There are also some very nice fleeces available these days, and cotton poly blends.  If climate or warmth are not your concern, then you may want to look at some of the hi tech materials that are available as they are really lightweight and often have moisture wicking properties as well as stain resistance and are very easy to care for.  You may also find some that are fire or flame resistant if this is also a concern.
