Bring Out Your Inner Red in Red Baseball Shirt

A great item to add to anyone’s closet due to its’ functionality and comfort is a red baseball shirt.  This shirt would pair very well with a pair of jeans and tennis shoes for a comfortable day shopping or hanging out with friends, and could also be worn with a pair of shorts in the summer for informal outings.  Since these shirts are available in several different styles and sizes, they make great gifts for any member of the family as well.  Before purchasing the shirt, however, there are a few things to consider, such as style, size, and fabric type.

First, the style of the shirt is important because one can find a red baseball shirt with a standard t-shirt style construction, or also with a button-front style, similar to a baseball jersey.  These shirts are available in short sleeve versions, which are good for warmer weather, or long sleeve styles, which are great for cooler climates and colder weather.  Some also come with ¾ length sleeves, which is along the lines of a baseball shirt from days past.  The shirt may also be available as one solid color on the body and sleeves, or could also be offered with a red body and sleeves of a contrasting color.      

The size of the shirt must also be considered, especially if it is being purchased as a gift.  For an adult male, their red baseball shirt can be purchased in standard sizes small, medium, large, extra large, and some manufacturers also offer even larger sizes.  Women’s shirts can be purchased in the standard small, medium, and large as well.  Children and infant sizes are also similar to the standard clothing sizes that would be found in stores.  Since these shirts are made to fit loosely, they are usually cut quite generously.  If the shirt is being purchased as a present, there is not much risk in purchasing a size that is slightly too small, as it will most likely still fit due to the generous cut.

One of the most popular fabrics for a red baseball shirt is standard cotton.  This is a great option because it is very durable, and can generally stand up to countless turns in the washing machine.   Another benefit of standard cotton is that since it is widely available, it is very inexpensive.  Some cotton shirts can be purchased for under $10, which is a bargain to most.  One drawback to standard cotton is that toxic dyes are used in its’ production process.  These dyes can sometimes cause skin irritation.  In addition, these dyes as well as some of the other processes in the production of standard cotton are not the most environmentally sound, causing concern to some.

As an alternative to standard cotton, one can also purchase a red baseball shirt made of organic cotton.  This type of cotton stands to be the most environmentally friendly cotton option, and many choose it due this fact.  In addition, organic cotton tends to be even softer than standard cotton, which is another great benefit for those with sensitive skin.
