Patriotic Bowling Shirts

One area of apparel that is not always fully explored is the area of patriotic bowling shirts.  These shirts can display powerful images evoking pride and respect from those around.  Each display calls to memory the sacrifices that have been undertaken to give a nation its freedom and identity. Bowling is an international and global sport. It is enjoyed by amateurs and professionals alike. This gives it a tremendous mass appeal which lends itself well to the types of messages this kind of shirt could display.  Each nation could be represented by the appropriate symbols and the shirts could proudly display the beloved heritage of each country.

Patriotic bowling shirts can come in a variety of colors and styles. Most likely they will come in the colors that are traditionally symbols of that country.  But that does not have to be the case.  The patriotic message could be displayed in other ways such as the national symbol or flag or other such icon.  Be sure that other colors used beside the traditional do not have a derogatory hidden meaning. Many anarchist groups mock the symbols using colors that have a different meaning. Be sure that by allowing choice you are not sending the wrong message.

Patriotic bowling shirts can also come in a variety of styles.  The classic collared shirt with button down front does not have to be the only choice.  Many leagues are now using the much more cost effective tee shirts and polo shirts.  Each style of shirt can still portray the right symbols and icons as well as give the league an updated and sportier look.  Be careful however. Many bowlers are veterans of war and thus an older demographic. They may prefer the traditional style especially when a national symbol will adorn it.

Some elements need to remain the same even for patriotic bowling shirts.  There still needs to be a place for the bowler’s name and the team name. Beyond that there also needs to be room for the sponsor’s logo and information to be displayed prominently.  The challenge will be to coordinate these elements with the national symbols in a way that does all of them equal justice.  It would not sit well with most to have the sponsor dominate the image over the national image. On the other hand, sponsors are not going to pay good money for advertising when their message is obscured on the shirt.

Patriotic bowling shirts require additional coordination with sponsors and proprietors. You need to get input from all people involved to find out what they may consider good taste or bad taste.  The use of national images on a common stage may not sit well with all involved. Once you get everyone’s approval, the next task is to bulk order as many shirts as possible. The will help get better wholesale prices to offset the additional cost printing the patriotic images themselves.  Be sure to check with sponsors as well to make sure they are willing to pay more for the specially designed shirts.
