An Orange Shirt is a Great Color

Choosing to use bright and bold colors in your wardrobe is a great way to make a personal fashion statement.  A solid orange shirt, for instance, stands out a great deal more than any neutral toned top you might have hanging in your closet.  This is a perfect color for back to school season, especially since it corresponds well to the hues of the harvest that are typically associated autumn.  It draws the right kind of attention without being too jarring or overwhelming, and incites positive energy because it has a warm and inviting nature but still maintains a cool and smooth sense of purpose.

There are many fine examples of this complementation on the campus of New York’s Syracuse University.  Orange and navy blue are, after all, the school colors and accordingly dictate a majority of the school’s student wardrobe.  Everywhere you look you can see a blue and orange shirt or a bright sweatshirt with confident navy lettering across the front.  With corresponding flags, face paint, jackets, auto detailing, and banners, the city comes alive when school is in session to show their support for the development of university athletics and academia.  Students, teachers, professors, parents, and local business leaders all participate in this community camaraderie. 

Another great example of a school that uses orange shirt pride to unify the student body is the Florida Gators.  Of course, it helps that they are down in the Sunshine State where oranges grow quite abundantly.  The University of Florida’s colors, though, seem a bit brighter than Syracuse’s, and perhaps it is indeed due to the southern Atlantic sunshine the state is famous for.  Maybe it’s the hints of green from the gator mascot, but Florida’s use of the color scheme seems greatly different than Syracuse.  Either way, both schools are known for their superior academic and athletic programs, as well as their bright complementary school colors.
