Office Uniforms
There are many professions that require uniforms. Actually there are more companies than you probably know but if you look around and see all the people that are wearing some type of uniform you will see that there are many office uniforms out there that people are put in a position to wear. If you were to list out all the professions that use uniforms in the office you would be counting into the thousands. You probably thought that uniforms were only for very specific professions but this is far from the truth. A day does not go by that you will not pass someone in a uniform during your errands.
Start with your service professionals. When you go into the beauty parlor or the nail salon or even for your daily tanning, each one of these locations has a group of employee that all wear the same uniform. For them, this is their office uniforms. It might just be a polo shirt with the name of the company on it or it might be the colored smock or even sometimes it can be scrubs but the point is that they all wear something and it is all the same within that particular place of business.
Of course there are office uniforms in just about any wireless company store as well as more retail stores. Again, in some cases it is just the shirt with a required color of pants but the shirt or top says it all. From the name of the company to the name of the employee, they identify the organization that the particular person is with and instantly makes them the face of the organization to the customer. This process of having the employee be responsible for the company’s image can sometimes be a double edged sword. Either way, the service experience is remembered, there will be no doubt the company that either succeeded or failed in delivery.
Even if you look at Wall Street, some of the brokers right on the floor where smock type tops that bear the name of the firm that they represent. This is also true for cleaning companies and lawn maintenance companies. Granted the employees that work in the field are not office employees but if you went to their main office you would find that in most cases even the office employees have office uniforms that they are required to wear.
There is no end to the examples that can be given to prove that office uniforms are very popular and very much a part of corporate life. The companies that deem these necessary do so for their own reasons but to the consumer it is just another way to know and remember who you are working with. The most popular office uniform is the shirt. Long sleeved or short sleeve, in most cased the shirt is the only uniform part that the employee gets. They will then be told what color pants they are allowed to wear and they will get the pants that are most comfortable for them while still being within the dress code that they were given.
