Embroidered Letters

Embroidered Letters

Words are very powerful, and the words that people’s garments display quickly identify the kind of person that they are, or what they do. Wearing a garment with embroidered letters is a great way to make a strong impression on those around you. Letters are commonly stitched onto garments in order to identify the wearer. Alternatively, they may show the wearer’s allegiance to a particular group or institution, or that the wearer is a member of a group.

A garment may come already customized with embroidered letters. For example, leather jackets are often embroidered with the name of the manufacturer who designed and produced the garment. However, if you wish to have a plain garment personalised with stitched letters, you can have this done for you professionally if you do not wish to do it yourself. Many companies, both online and on the high street, offer people the opportunity to have a particular garment customized with embroidered letters.

Sports players often have embroidered letters on one or more of their uniforms’ garments. For example, in sports such as basketball, players must have the number of the position that they play on their team stitched onto the back of their basketball jerseys. Hockey jerseys must have the player’s surname stitched onto the back, as well as their designated number according to the position that they play. Players with the same surname as another player on their team also have a first initial embroidered onto their clothing to avoid confusion between players on the field.

Business people may choose to have particular items or garments stitched with lettering. They may wear a uniform shirt with embroidered letters which display the name of the company that they work for. Others may have their names stitched onto the front or back of their shirt or other garments.

Embroidered letters may come in a range of styles and fonts. Some lettering is very simple and straight. Other lettering may be very curly and ornate. Customers may choose basic block letters for their garments, as these are the easiest to read. Alternatively, there are upper and lower case block letters, where nouns and other important words are capitalised. This is particularly useful for proper nouns such as the names of people and companies. In addition, a company may also offer a variety of script styles, which are more ornate. Athletes and sports players generally wear garments which have block capital letters on them, spelling out their name and/or team. The military also usually use simple block capitals to customize uniforms. Many companies also offer monograms, which are two or more letters which overlap to make an ornamental motif. These are often quite complex and beautiful – they are much more complicated than ordinary lettering, and will usually cost more for the company to produce. Monograms are particularly appropriate for occasions such as Christmas, a christening, a birthday, or another special event. They are particularly popular on garments which are made for children, as monograms are typically brightly colored.
