Embroidered Jackets
There are many reasons why you might opt to purchase a jacket that is already embroidered, or to have a jacket customized with embroidery. Embroidered jackets make a great impression: they look professional and stylish. Jackets may feature embroidery on the front or the back, or even on the sleeves and shoulders.
There are now many websites which allow you to design your own embroidered jackets. You can select the location of the embroidery: the right or left side of the chest on the front, or the top of the jacket’s back. You can also choose how the embroidery is arranged: you can have just a logo on its own, a logo with a small line of text above and below, a logo with two lines of text below, arched lines of text over the top of the logo, or just a single line of text. The maximum size of the majority of embroidery hoops is about 14”, so your designs for the jacket should not be taller than 13”. Fancy fonts can be ordered from professional embroiderers, who are able to faithfully render the detailed lettering.
It is common for jackets worn by sports players to be embroidered. These are commonly worn over sports uniforms to keep warm or during training. Teams will often wear identical jackets with individual embroidery so that they can each be identified separately but appear as a unified group. The back of the jacket is usually emblazoned with the player’s surname or surname and first initial. Coaches’ embroidered are often stitched with the coach’s surname or the word “coach” so that they are recognisable from a distance.
Varsity jackets are also commonly embroidered. They usually display the initials of the high school, college or university that the student is part of on the left side of the chest. The embroidery is usually white, because the embroidered jackets themselves are usually made in dark bold colors. Students wear these embroidered jackets to show pride in their educational establishment and to connect with other students. They are often quilted, and therefore keep the wearer warm in cold conditions.
You might decide to make stylish embroidered jackets for yourself. Embroidery sews well onto a variety of fabrics, so most jackets can be made into embroidered jackets. The materials needed for this are not difficult to obtain: any craft shop will sell thread in a wide selection of colors, as well as needles and any other needlework items you might wish to use. Once you have decided on the colour of your thread, select the design that you wish to embroider onto the jacket. This might be a logo of a sports team, your name, an emblem or simple pattern. If the design is quite complex, you might wish to use a template that is ready-made for use, or make a template yourself. Embroidering jackets can be a satisfying, fun and worthwhile hobby that does not require you to spend a lot of money for great results.
