Embroidered Badges

You can add a great detail to police uniforms, by making a embroidered badge. Whether you play a police officer in a fantasy costume or are a real police officer you can take your heavy steel badge and trade it in for embroidery directly on your shirt. We all remember the days when we were playing cops and robbers. Wouldn't embroidered badges looked great on our costumes. The toy badge can be differentiated into many types like police badge, sheriff’s badge or any other type you want to make. You are ready for a day of play when you end up finishing badge.

Draw out the pattern onto your cardboard, with the help of your marker. Draw on the side of the material that will not show up. On the side that won’t show, draw the exact pattern of same size on the felt. Write down the letters and figures that you want on your embroidered badges, you would like to make on the felt. Again, repeat the same procedure on the side that won’t show. You can write whatever according to your wish on the badge.

Next step is cutting out the letters and patterns you drew and sizing them up with the help of clipping edges that don’t match exactly. Get the badge letters close to the possible same size. After that, sew the letters carefully onto the piece of material. Sew them onto your favorite side that you want to be the front of the badge. Carefully sew the badge cutouts together which is an important step in making embroidered badges. Instead of sewing them all the way, spread out the cotton balls and stuff the badge. In this way you can make sure that seem remains sealed and tight.

While continuing to fill the stuffing, finish the sewing edges closed. When the seam is closed entirely, cut the excess felt away and tie the thread. The important things needed for making embroidered badges are cotton twill fabric, paper artist’s paintbrush, sketch pad pencil and colored pencil, embroidery hoop, embroidery needle and fabric glue wax. You can apply various themes on your badge or you can search them on the net. If you are working in an organization, then badges can help you symbolize your identity, so you can also make them for your organization. You can use images as well as writings on your badge or you can use both of them. Carefully decide about the shape and size of your badge as it will be your important primary step.

Badges can be used wherever you want. You can use them in your office to prank with your colleagues and friends or you can use them as toys for your kids. You can also use them in your school and make children act like sheriff. On the other side making police embroidered badges can be a great idea for comedy show, theatrical production or video. You can also use them for school fairs, at poker nights or even at special clubs. These badges can be made with the small amount of efforts and materials if you follow all the important instructions. Badges can be made in varying designs and colors; it depends on your needs, artistic mind and how much effort you can put in.

Of course, if you do not want to do your own by hand, you can have an embroidery company digitize your badge and can sew the badge directly onto your apparel.
