The Various Styles of Cook Shirts

So you find yourself just out of culinary school, and now you find yourself working for a top notch five star restaurants, now all you need now are some fancy cook shirts. Where would you find shirts like this? Well they are a little harder to come by than normal shirts. You should begin by looking online, using a search engine and type in what you are looking for and chances are you will find it. There are not many local department stores that carry them so the internet is defiantly the best place to start your search.

There are many styles of cook shirts to be found, all you need to do is find the style you like best. The colors for the shirts are most usually black or white, with white being the more dominant color choice for most chefs. There are a wide variety of styles from short sleeve to long sleeve and collared to no collar shirts. Choosing the right shirt for the job can sometimes be a challenge you need to decide what is going to make you comfortable since you are the one that has to wear it.

Some of the different style of cook shirts is camp shirts, bistro shirts, classic shirts, gourmet shirts, and v neck scrub shirts. Even the style of buttons on these shirts varies from shirt to shirt. Some have regular buttons while others are sporting snaps. Some of them have button down collars while others do not. You may even find that some chefs prefer a polo shirt as the shirt of choice to cook in. There are of course long sleeves, short sleeves, and three quarter inch sleeves. There are a lot of things to consider when choosing a shirt to cook in.

Now you need to decide if you are going to have your cook shirts plain or will you have them embroidered? Many places will have the logo of the restaurants that they cook for embroidered somewhere on the shirt most usually on the top right hand side. Being a chef is one of the most respected careers to be in, if you do it will you could become world renowned.  Possibly even have your own television show if you are really good. Let’s not get too far ahead of ourselves though you still have a long ways to go. Now you need to add to the wardrobe with pants a hat and everything else to be a first class chef.

Now you are all set to be a world renowned chef. Now, it is time to start cooking and get noticed by critics and by the public. You will defiantly make an impression between your good food and your fancy cook shirts. With all the tools of your trade at your disposal you are sure to reach the top in no time. They say that the clothes make the man, well in this case the shirt of a chef is unique and it does make them what they are.
