For a long time workers who were not part of management wore whatever they were comfortable in or followed generic guidelines for dress in the work place. Business work shirts have become the standard today since more and more business realize the value of a good looking and uniform work force.  Whether it is in industry, retail, or business services every member of the staff should be wearing business work shirts from the boss to the receptionist to the custodian.  Business work shirts help promote a consistent reinforced image of the company.

The design of business work shirts is wide open. They are adaptable to any work environment. They can be collared and button down giving a more sophisticated look or be simple tee shirts or polo shirts.  The key is to make the business work shirts fit the business environment and present the look the customers expect and feel comfortable with. The workers also have to feel comfortable with the type and design of the shirt. The more comfortable they are the better job they will do.  A good look will give the worker confidence and the customer will have more confidence in them.

After the style of the business work shirts has been chosen, the next decision is the design that will adorn the shirt.  There are a lot of choices on how to go about this. Larger companies will have the help of the marketing and advertising department while smaller companies will have to find someone qualified enough or at least willing enough to handle the job.  The company should already have a logo and or slogan to be used.  The artwork should be camera ready for the printer to use.  If the printer has to design a logo or other artwork this will cost quite a bit extra.  If multiple colors are going to be screened onto the shirt, remember that each color is its own screen and will have a set up fee associated with it. This is a one- time fee for the first printing. Subsequent printings won’t carry this fee as long as you go back to the same printer. Choose your printer wisely and consider the cost before you start putting the whole rainbow on your business work shirts.

Business work shirts can be customized and personalized to the level the business might need.  The decision has to be made regarding whether or not the shirt will have individual names on them for each worker. This is a nice personal touch, but does require more work in getting an accurate list. There also may be some additional cost as the printer will have to screen or embroider a separate name on each shirt.  Reorders are more difficult this way, too. Every business has turn over, so new shirts will have to be ordered for each new employee and names of past employees will have to be deleted.  Although personalized shirts might be a nice touch, it may be more cost efficient to bulk order generic shirts in various sizes.
